Well done Joe Calzaghe!!!!!!!!Joe Calzaghe confirmed his status as the best super-middleweight in the world - and arguably of all time - as he defeated Mikkel Kessler in front of a partisan crowd at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
Calzaghe added the Dane's WBA and WBC titles to his own WBO crown, in the process making the 21st successful defence of a title he won 10 years ago, and cementing the legacy he had begun to build with his incredible dismantling of Jeff Lacy 18 months ago.
The Welshman has now held WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO world titles within the space of 12 months, something that not even Lennox Lewis could lay claim to.
Without a doubt the best super-middleweight in the world, promoter Frank Warren says this victory leaves him at the top of the pile when it comes to pound for pound fighters as well.

Dauntless.
The missus watches it more than I do, but I watch most of the big fights.
The missus likes her footy and Setanta is hard to beat for a tenner a month.

They could get equally fit doing other sports that don't shorten their life span!

ah right now I'm not a footy fan but if they showed F1 on there I would get it like a shot! anything so I dont have to listen to James Allen (muppet) being corrected by Martin Brundle! (the best)
my mate said he read they have F1 on there but I found out its only if you live in Ireland!
a tenner a month is pretty good isnt it!

Naaah Billy, you just have to know when to stop, George Foreman is alive and kicking, and doing very well now. And he boxed into his fifties I think....

Aye although its not been proven that his illness was the cause of boxing it is pretty obvious
His boxing style left him prone to taking large amounts of damage during fights!

It is well accepted amongst the medical profession that it was a major contribution to his condition, agree that it was not all that led to his current state.
There are many Athletes in contact sports that have taken many blows to the head that have major medical problems down the road. I understand where some see the tactics and training that lead up to a champion Boxer, but it is brutal. I am not a fan of the sport, but it is not my place to say if it is right or wrong.

Just look at the early pics of how Ali was, a fine, very fit, athletic young man.
Then compare to now.
So very, very sad.
