Well why not, about meIn James's words, it's the in thing, so I'll have a crack at it
I'm 31, married, and we have a 4yr old daughter. Live in Forster, New South Wales, Australia, which is about 3hrs drive North of Sydney and I love it here I got into Steam around Feb or March last year after seeing my brothers homemade engine run. I work as a Level 4 Greenkeeper on a Golf Course, which is pretty good, I love outdoor work. Other jobs in the past have included Engine Reconditioner (petrol engines), builders labourer, shop assistant, Pest Control offsider, and other I can't recall. I have kept studies up to date with computing, in case I need to fall back on it, but I hope I never have to, unless I get an outdoor office. Steam is my major Hobby. That and talking steam and other stuff with a great bunch of people here 
I used to restore cars, but that got expensive, plus rising fuel costs didn't go well with muscle cars, and I became a Dad which = not much time .
I also have a bonsai collection, which I like, but don't tend to too much. Just let them grow
I also surf a lot, and occasionally go spearfishing. The name Wallace came from our local lake (wallis lake). It's a nickname given by mates when I once Jumped in the lake fully clothed. Now I can't recall exactly why, I get 2 conflicting stories. One was cos I dropped my wallet in, had $5 in it and nothing else, but I really wanted my money back. The other story is I thought I dropped my wallet in the Lake, so I jumped in, and turned out I had it in the back pocket. I can't remember. Anyway, the name just stuck. In this town also known as "The General" (due to my love for General Motors Holden/Chevrolet), or at work I am always called Hollywood for reasons I can't go into here

Wallace, for some reason I imagined you were in your fifties (no offence!). Must be the all the sage advice you give out. It's a bit of a mental shock to realise that you are three years younger than me.
At least it means that we've got lots of time ahead of us for steam engine collecting.

Hey Wallace, good to get the "other" side of the man...sounds like you have had some quite varied interests...surfing, spearfishing and steam collecting stand out as highlights to me. My wife likewise is into Bonsai...seems a very contemplative hobby where she will sit for hours snipping away and training branches with bits of wire.
Now...one of these days you must fess up as to your "Hollywood" title...enquiring minds want to know (as a tabloid would say)!!! cheers, Rog |

Sounds like you have a great job Wallace. I would love to work outdoors, but there aren't that many engineering practices that are held out of doors  You must explain the different levels of greenkeeping though

Cheers for that. I will get some photos of the bonsai. I know constant trimming an such is needed, to train them, but like many hobbies of mine in the past it just got put aside
However I have tried to get them looking good, but a bit hard once they get out of control
The Hollywood title Ok, without going into detail, about 10yr ago my mate was on the World Surfing Pro Tour (Beau Emerton, now a big Wave surfer). I got invited to a event held here in OZ (but not to surf), more as a roadie.
Things got wild at the after party Lets say I got into a comprimising situation with 2 "fans". It was on video, that video made it to the Official Video of that event that year.
About 7yr ago a fellow worker who is a surfer, but quite older than me, recognised me from the video
Word got out, one thing lead to another, and I was titled "hollywood" as in being a movie star
Ever since that video, I have had to explain it to Girlfriends, including my current wife, quite early in the realtionship
MTA, although engineering is indoor, I'd like that job, as long as I wasn't doing something physical. I seem to have difficulty in staying awake if I sat in an office at a Computer The differen levels of Greenkeeping is usually set according to experience. You start out as an apprentice, working your was through levels 1 and 2. Level 3 means fully qualified. Level 4 is fully qualified, with additional experience, usually full knowledge of the irrigation pumps and computers that control them or managment skills (I have the irrigation experience), and the ability to supervise up to 10 workers. Level 5 is simply a Level 4 put into the position of Assistant Superintendent. Level 6 means you are the Superintendent, with quite a lot of experience (or in our bosses case, you kiss a lot of bums )

Erik, I love the real cars. Can't beat em. Your's is great. Not so much a Muscle Car, but one with power, and comfortable. Something I'd like to own, and it's Chev
I hope to own a muscle car again one day. Had a few, but sold on cos things got expensive and I lacked time |

I like real cars, but only Fords . My car isn't fast, doesn't need to be. Steers like a go-kart aswell
