what's this traction engine?

Hi guys i found this engine, and i am wondering what is it, also what would you pay for it? Sorry it's a small picture, but that's what was on Craiglsist, looks like it also come with a Wilesco circular saw. I think it might be a Mamod roller, but i dont know nearly as much about traction engines as much as stationary's, so i could completely wrong.

Thanks,

Connor

It's a Fleischmann 155/1, not sure on price though.

Not sure on the price either, but I sure like the looks of that one
Manx has one I believe maybe he might have an idea of value. I think there are other forum members that have them too.

Thanks for the info, I'll do some more research on the model and see if they're rare, and what they go for. Forum member opinions on it's value, or what you would pay for it, are greatly appreciated
Les

How much are they asking for it??

What a lovely little Roller. As already said it's a Fleischmann. This model is quite rare and is the version made after WWII. It's an exact copy of the pre war Doll version (except Doll was green). Fleischmann later changed the model and the more common red version was made up until 1955.

If you could see underneath the model, it should say "made in the US zone Germany".

Now as for value: Difficult. The more common version seems to go for between about £100GBP for a poor version and £200GBP for a decent example. I've seen very few of these very early Fleischmann models. A decent Green Doll example will start at about £300GBP.

Therefore and this is only a guess, I'd say this model will be worth something between about £150GBP and £300GBP. Hope that helps.

Here is a similar engine, not quiet the same.

It shows these engines get top dollar.
They are rather nice though, very well specified.

This one is a bit bigger than the one you're looking at. I do have examples of both and could do a pic if you want to see the difference.

It does hurt, but I've got 2 really good finds on craigslist, so i can't expect 3 good finds in row, and both of the engines I got on craiglist were dirt cheap too. Like i said oh well, you cant expect to have lucky finds all the time...

Here's another that was ended by the seller.
