where does the name mamod come from

does anybody know or what does it mean

Yea, it's short for Malins Models. Malin is the surname of the original family buisness. Malin is pronounced May-lin. So Mamod should be pronouced May-mod.

I hear Eric Malins pronounces it that way, but does anybody else? I'm afraid I say Mah-mod.
