I said slide but my wallet says oscillating which is why I have many oscillating engines but only three slide valve engines.

I like both but only have one slide valve.

Depends for me, it could be a Wilesco D10 vs Mamod SE4

That's like having to choose between a Jensen #5 or a #25.....can't do it.

Jensen slide.

I love 'em all! Each type is cool in its own right. For example, the small flieshmann can run at the slowest speed I have ever seen in an oscillating engine. Had it going on just over 1psi!
Whats not to love?

I voted slide, as I like to see everything work rather than dissapear into a blur.
By the way, oscillators and 'slides' are both piston valves, the only difference being one is fixed. Seeing as slide valves are something altogether different.

Jam wins everytime V Marmalade!
Down south we use a close fitting lid on the jar to preserve it
Homemade blackcurrant jam made from berries you picked yourself on a hot summers day...tastes fantastic and worth all the cuts from the blackcurrant briers too!

I guess I don't have a fave. If I had to choose it would be oscilating, cos it fits in with the engines I collect
