Who's it gonna be? Football!Spain? Turkey? Germany? Russia? In any account, it going to be hot (not just the weather!) here in town when Germany plays against Turkey. Thousands of Turks live here - and lots of Germans will be coming to watch (Thank goodnes Austria is out and doesn't have to play against Turkey - would have been a riot after the game).
And if Germany wins and has to play against Russia (them having won over Spain)? Ay, caramba! Some nut will probably chant "Revenge for Stalingrad!" or some such rut. 
Anyway, it's going to be an interesting week ...

I haven't seen any of the games, and probably won't watch any of them.

Turkey have 9 players either injured or suspended (they are considering playing their third goalkeeper outfield )....oh and they play the Germans

... too right, James! I just thought about the "fans" here in town, when Germany and Turkey play. I think it wise to stay well at home and board up the windows. 
It'll be the Germans to win - unless Michael Ballack breaks an ankle until tomorrow.

I use a digital SLR - Canon 20D, which I like a lot. Couple of models out of date now but does a good job. I also have an EOS 30 that doesn't get much use and a Canon AE1. I think the lenses are more important than the cameras though.

I am not a sports person, athletic, but not in sports. So I know less than nothing, other than what you call football is called "soccer" here. Never made anysense, cause american football, you don't use your feet!! 
Only in america. I played soccer in grade school very briefly, I was really bad, something worse than bad.
You should see me play video games... its really sad!!

I went for Spain, they play the most elegant football, but they are not very tall, which seems will be a disadvantage against Germany or Russia.
Lack of height didnt matter against Italy though

Britain not being part of Europe proper don't work - you'd have to move the island somewhere else. And then you'd just be part of another geopolitical entity. Asia, America, Antarctica, Africa ...

... p'raps the Americans shoud re-name the game, as not to get it mixed up with real football. Since they hardly kick the egg-shaped ball, but rather toss it around, knocking each other down in a rugby-ish manner, they could call it "American Rugby", or 'Amirug' for short.
