who wants to play a gameTomorrow I will be doing some towing trials with a Roundhouse Bertie (2kg), a MSS side tank (1.1kg) and a finescale Peckett (1.5kg). Who want to have guess how many times its own weight each loco can pull ?
P.S no prize except the feeling of being right

The side tank I will guess... 11 times its weight

Bertie 5 to 6 time, MSS 3 to 4 times, not familiar with the Peckett

Well Ive been out and the results are a bit surprising. Bertie towed 1.9 times its own weight and the MSS towed 3.4 times its own weight. The peckett didn't want to move so pulled -1 times it weight.

Would of thought Bertie would of pulled more but I was basing my guess on the 'Lady Anne' stats which is meant to be able to haul about 13kg on level track.
The MSS was about what I thought though.

The Bertie will pull more but it has very little traction so has problems with my tight curves

thats really interesting!
I would have thought the Bertie would have more umph. Maybe it would be better if ballasted?

Its just that it has so much power it cant realy use it, try and make it tow to much and it just spins
