Why is it...?

Today I went to Amberley to do some trackwork. I did the following:

Replaced a rotten split sleeper
Ballasted track
Greased many a track bolt
Loaded wagons with logs to be added to the bonfire
And drove this beast:

A BEV battery 4 wheeled loco, two batteries, producing 24V's each. Each battery weighs 1ton I was quite alarmed when I was sitting on top of it as the driver said that when someone sat in the middle of the lid, the lid touched the battery terminals, the lid and the seated person flew a considerable distance. Obviously I shuffled to the edge
So the point of the topic title is: Why do people not do anything on a sunday when they could be having so much fun as I do every sunday!

James

MM, Gainsborough Trinity are in the same league as Nuneaton

Trinity are shocking

One of the oldest teams in the country, have one of the oldest grounds, and have NEVER been relegated. Looks like they will this year though
MTA

This is why I go out, because there's nothing else but sport on TV (I can't stand watching football). Fresh air, exercise, talking to people, driving locos, feeling that youve done something worthwhile, nothing can beat that!

Your day sounds great MTA. I've been in my garage most of the day doing some woodwork (making a large bookcase) and I ran a couple of steam engines on the bench while I was at it. I could do this every day if I didn't have to go to work!

One year Liverpool may not do so well, I don't think they are doing overly brillaint now to be honest

Although beating Chelsea can't be too bad

By the way, one draw back is that I am now bearing a lot of pain in my right arm. I cannot explain as to how this pain was inflicted, but it feels like someones whacked me with an iron pole, and the pain doesn't die away...

That's electricity for you. I should know because I've touched many an electric fence.
TE1A_man

Electric fences are fun!!! We have not even a mile of fence, and we have a 40 mile transformer, once i was jumping and touching the hot wire, and i didn't let go when i came back down, that threw me on my butt really hard
yosa

I was once blown around fifteen feet when I received 415v at 35amps.

I was serving my time (only 17 at the time) and I got it wrong.
