Why KritikaGot my first TE1 in the early 70s as most kids did, I left it at my mums when I went to work overseas in the big bad world.
Can you believe it, when I got home - after 25 yrs in Africa and Middle East and Europe, she had thrown my beloved TE1 away - I was gutted!
So on the old Bay of E for a replacement and I got hooked, what can I say (I hope there are pills or ointment or something to help this?) Nice to be living back in the civilised world again......Why Kritika, well it’s a Greek word I picked up working there.

Hi Kritika,
Good to have you with us. Although eBay can bring out the best and worst...it at least offers us all a shot at replacing a key engine like your TE1...then of course adding 10 more or 110 more as the case may be.
cheers,
Roger

Thanks Guys
I have already replaced the TE1 with a 1968 TE1 and have been very lucky to get a mint 1961 SR1 as well complete with one-piece brass burner & plate metal scuttle (riveted together)

Ooo nice!
Does it have the decal under the firebox?

Well another hello. I don't think any of us has the bus you are after. Any special reason you want that one? As Tony (tmuir) has already said I've got a couple of these and the only difference between any of the buses is the model colour.

For your info Mister Occlusion - KRITIKA is the place I lived on the Island of Rhodes, I just like the sound of it.
It means place of the Kretes, as during the war with Greece & Turkey all Kretians (who were mostly of turkish origin then) were made to live in this place KRITIKA which looked towards the coast of Turkey. A bad view for the Greeks of the island at that time but good news for the Krete/Turks (Its prime beach front real estate these days with lovley views of the sea)

Hi, welcome to the forum - and - never mind the pills - just enjoy that unique smell of steam, oil, oh and the noise!
That why most of us are here!
