Some sort of death ray attachment?
johnreid

That same accessory was discussed in a thread last year but I cant remember what exactly it was.
igy569

?????
Well...  I can tell its from the 60's, cause the base is identical to the bases on my stuff that was purchased in 1961.
Other than that, i would go with the deathray idea.
Nick

Is there a pulley?

Does it do anything?
toxx

... I remember our discussion on this item from last Summer, too. Didn't Reid identify it as a Steam-Driven-Tooth-Cleaner, aka The SteamyFloss?

O Reid, where art thou?
davo453

It was supposed to be included with an engine that I bought but it got missed out of mine and included with someone else, it was in the picture of the auction lot I purchased.

Having some clue what it's called would be a help, as I expect I'll end up asking for a bit of compensation.

So I haven't actually handled the thing, hard to guess what it is isn't it.

I've been right through the past 3 months of ebay Wilesco sales and found nothing similar

I'll tell em I want compo for the missing tooth cleaner then
Dampfzauberer

It is called the "flexible grinder"
It is a spring that rotates inside another spring...
On top there is a small grinding stone placed.
So when driven, this accesoire can be bentin all directions and is still will work
Got it?
pauly

definatley a weapon off the deathstar
mc_mc

Well done Dampfzauberer

I've found another example: http://www.jacksonsauction.com/Ma...nGallery/pages/Lots-1829-1851.htm
Check out lot 1843

I'd say it's pretty rare, shame you didn't get it.

johnreid

Well Done, we would be lost without Mirko
davo453

So it looks like its a "flexible die grinder". Awesome thank you very much for all of your input and head scratching.

I spent a lot of time digging for that. Lord knows if that means it's rare or not.

It would be nice if I could actually get the thing but at least I now know what it is I complaining I haven't got

What you reckon £100 compensation? (I wish, more like £10 I think)

Thanks again

Glad someone finally managed to identify it as I remember that discussion last year too.
rangerssteamtoys

Darn, you guys spotted it.

Will we all bid it way up?
johnreid

No, I am not bidding. I thought there was a Fleischmann punch too, but realized it is a Wilesco that is being sold as a Fleischmann.
