Here is my video of the D2.
The specs on this run:
Filled with 20ml of distilled water.
7min 35 sec startup from cold on candle that has been used 3 times before.
Run time 1 hour 21 minutes!!! .
Runs sweet as a nut.
Down side is you only get 4 runs out of a candle.
Upside you can use scented candles
Swift Fox
Ceetainly goes well, i think it is going to be a good seller for Wilesco. I'm surprised they didn't fit a safety valve instead of the blank plug though when i first saw these engines.

Then your D2 is the winner. Mine needed about 10 mintes to build up steam and she ran for a little more than 45 minutes before stopping.
Finaly Wilesco again made a great engine.

Matter of taste! There are similar models are also available from other manufacturers. I think it is not a traditional "tin toys" anymore.

Quite right, it's a fascination toy like levitrons or Mendocino motors or even Newtons balls. It is still a lot of fun. Wilesco are looking for a wider audience than just steam enthusiasts.
I think we need to support Wilesco and buy heaps of these things and give them as gifts instead of the regular trinkets.
If we don't support them old Bill might go and do something else!
I see in another thread they are cutting back on models. The 12 and D15 will be canned.
