James, that is a right fine engine running...didn't realize they were quite so smooth...reminds me of a Chevy V8 engine!!
You might want to give MM a PM with this video link in it...as he will surely want to play it again and again

We did a competition on here a bit back mate, fastest and slowest running engines.
I got slowest running engine on the forum with this D22

Wilescos sometimes get a bit of gip tossed at them, but they are really pretty well engineered pieces of kit. I love my D455 vertical and Old Smokey roller.
My grandson is visiting for a week in early July...I expect that roller is going to get some miles on it!!!

I LOVE Wilesco.
They are great engines, people don't like em as they are built out of thin metal and the likes. Makes no difference to me!

I think Wilescos are thick enough where it counts and they put a fair bit of engineering into them...your D22 being a nice example of that.

Aye mate, my D22 is an older one. I got it from STEAM4FUN with meths burner (that reminds me about the burner you wanted Rog!) and she runs like a dream. £80 I paid. £90 with mamod log truck/railway wagon/thingy

Good deal it would seem...sure goes like the clappers.
BTW...I love that expression but have no clue what a "clapper" is

LMAO!!!
Neither do I
Aye it was a good deal, these are little over £200 new I think. I got the better older one for under half price and it is in near mint conditon
I'm off mate, night

Wartime.
Squadron scramble!
Ring the bell, run like hell!
(Bells each have a clapper).
"When the bell rings, go like the clappers of hell".
(Or something similar).

Wow, great one James.
As Rog said, very smooth.
I asked elsewhere, but ask here again. How much was that engine, and was it new or used?

Very nice runner Jimbo!
I don't have room for one of them myself but good to see you are enjoying it lad!

Thanks David,
My mum is from Exeter and survived the blitz...I will have to ask her if she recalls that expression. I should think if one is running for their life, it would be hard to forget.
cheers,
Rog

That reminds me, I must try and beat that , then again if Rog enters his Stuart beam into the competition, we will both be blown out of the water

Aye lad, but we are slowest TOY engine
This one cost me £80 with a meth burner.
I'll do another video with the whistle blowing.

I agree about wilescos, I think I wil be a collector of them and get another jensen and a mamod but I love wilesco. My to show that my mamod steam tractor is heavier it weighs about 4 pounds (about 2 kg) and my wilesco steam roller is bigger and longer but only weighs about 3 pounds (1.5 kg). Wilesco trys to make things lighter because in the long run it saves them lots of money in raw materials.
