Yet another hobby!

H'llo, mates! I thought you might also like this: It's my r/c torpedo boat PT109. This was J.F. Kennedy's patrol boat, which he captained during WW2.
The model is 1/35, wood, everything scratch-built except for the figurines. She has 3 engines as is one fast baby ...

Cool, I wish I was better at scratch building stuff like that.

OOooh. What a beauty Tom.

That is just awesome mate.

Did you build it yourself??
IndianaRog

... I'm glad you like her, friends!  I'm sorry I can't post videos - I've got a digi slr Pentax *ist DS, with which you can't shoot videos.
The hull is 0,5mm plywood (normally used for planes) on the rather heavy wooden rib/keel construction. It was covered by an extremely thin (0,2g/cm) fibre glass mat drenched with epoxy resin. And now, after almost 5 years (the boat no having been in the water for 3 years) you can see a half-moon shaped crack near the bow. This wound is superficial and only in the epoxy layer, which might have been too thick in that spot. It doesnt effect the boat's seaworthiness.
But strange it is! I didn't think epoxy would react like this. The model has never been under extreme temperature fluctuations. Do you know how this can happen (Imagine a very flustered and sad Tom   )?

It might have been hit by a Japanese Destroyer
