Yet Another Purchase!Made by Roundhouse of Doncaster, this engine is named 'Anna' and is to one of the Merlin Beck designs.
It is Gauge 1 (I wish I hadn't sold my LGB track now ), gas fired and has slip eccentric valve gear.
She blows off at roughly 40psi, and the pressure gauge is in bars, not psi
I bought her for £240, considering the cylinders along are roughly £100 I think that I got her for a good price.
Mechanically as new condition, with little to no wear on the wheel treads. Now, the pictures!
You can see the dust on the boiler inside the cab can't you!?
The valve gear.
The gas tank is hidden inside the dummy water tank, and the regulator is the black plastic disc mounted on the dome, which is also the lubricator!

I got an invite last night to take Anna to a railway
Just got to wait for the railway to be built now
Anna will be the first live steam engine on the line, as the railway is electrified and uses LGB stock.

Just run 'Anna' 4 times, and she runs beautifully.
With just a circle of track and no stock she wasn't put through her paces, although I think there is a rather large reserve of power in there somewhere

Looking forward to seeing it run on a track near me

I have just taken Anna's cab off to give her a good clean before a running session at a friend of mine's garden railway (Katie will be going as well!) and I was very pleased that the paintwork under the thick dust is in as new condition!
No polishing will be needed there then
The cab came off very easily, I had to undo two self tapping screws ( ), one bolt above the rear coupler and the bolt that secures the gas jet into the brass part on the rear of the boiler.
Just a degrease and some brasso and she will look in tip top condition for the 2nd August
