picked up my latest  set .not strictly meccano but rather Marklin

old large (25 kilos) possibly only 1 in this country will do more photos later but thought this  1 of clockwork motors might be interesting
on the left we have  meccano" X-Series" which later become "magic"
then we have 1930s  1a reversing
and then we have Marklin which has provision for 3 output shafts weighs half a ton ( ) and works very well

Wow!

The Meccano reversing motor is big, that thing must be huge!
Save yourself on petrol costs, put it in your car!

That Marklin one is a monster. Didn't know you could get them so big
Any projects in mind for them?

no projects as such for these  the 2 meccano 1s are part of my Meccano display  but the Marklin motor is part of an early set

""Large Marklin Meccano boxed set
In 1912 Frank Hornby set up factories in Berlin, Paris and New York. The Berlin factory was operated by Marklin. The metal parts were all painted black. In 1914 when war broke out the factory was making war items and after the war in 1918 it was gifted to Marklin. This is a unique set and is one of the first to come out of the factory post WWI, under the Marklin name. It is 80% made from the old dies and could be the only one in NZ as imports from Germany were discouraged between the wars. About 25 kg fully restored.""
still undecided as to use it it just leave it  restored and mounted as is.
but if i could ever obtain a Marklin convertible steam engine then I would certainly make use of both engine and set
