Pardon for my Ignorance, but what is STIA? What do the initials stand for? Is it a local or regional or national steam show of some kind?

I could be quite interested, it does depend though on what I'm doing work wise. _________________ burning fingers since 1989! |

... gee, I wish I could attend. But there're these mountains in the way. And all that water: Strait o' Dover! Pas de Calais!
Aah, but I'll try t' come over! _________________ Says Tom

STIA is Steam Toys in Action. It's once a year (Feb) at Abbey Pumping station in Leicester.
Search it on the forums to see pics from the last two years _________________ Forum Founder, Owner and Admin.

If that was the case, I would try my best to get there , but I don't think it will happen.

I think the whole thing is a great idea. I love to come but it's quite costly for me to attend. STIA this year cost me, 2 flights, 2 nights in a hotel and a hire car for the weekend. I had a great time and money well spent.
I'd hate to have to choose between STIA and the forum event. My vote would have to be for the forum event being later in the year. This may just allow me to save for both. _________________ Manx, the mobile man |

Just thinkin`.......
We could probably only raise 6 - 10 displays..
Not enough for our own show.
That guy with the oil cans was comfortable enough in the large hall.
We could all get in there during a later "steam oil etc" day.
(It`s a lot lighter in there an all!) _________________ David.

| This sounds like a great idea. I would think that there would be enough engines there to make a good display. |
