What an outstanding addition, Richard!

Thanks Chuck,

I'm really pleased with it.

Just need to resolve some minor political issues and we can get the show on the road, (as it were )

Just my take on the fired versus unfired engine situation.
The engine was made to be operated, no operation, why make it functional. Just like the Model Fire engine that I recently bought, MiniSteam sells one for $20000 but I bought a non functional one for $17. If it doesnt work, why pay so much?

Now, there is a big difference between used and abused, if an item is used, but with the proper care, it shouldnt detract from it at all. Will it affect resale? Well, not that much I bet as the fact that it works probably adds to the desire to own it. I will gladly make you a non functional model and do an even trade if you wish

Lubricate but not over lubricate, drain it when done, and wipe it clean when done also.

You're preaching to the choir here John.

Some things have to be handled delicately, however.

Give Andrew the casting vote.

I think that's part of the problem.  He casts his vote about eight times a day.

After shooting the Table Saw and Man at Well video I tried to run the Marklin Carousel with the Jensen 25.

The pulley the carousel came with is manual crank only.  I removed it and installed the largest pulley from the Wilesco lineshafts.

Nevertheless, the Jensen could only turn it one or two revolutions before stalling.

Lubricating the carousel is difficult as it is very fragile and turning it upside down is extremely risky.

I think it's going to need a more powerful engine.  The Marklin or the Fleichmann.  A  larger pulley would also help.
