Here's a very good history on the whole operation, but I can see no mention of Fillingham Lake - http://www.war-experience.org/his...yaspects/damsraid0543/default.asp
The Building Research Station at Garston, where the model was built is apparently near Watford.
Was Fillingham Lake used for the making of the movie?
And again from Wikipedia.
| Quote: | | During the Second World War it was involved in the confidential research and development of the bouncing bomb for use against the Möhne Dam in the famous Dambusters Raid of 1943 [5] (The small scale model of the dam used for testing can still be found at the Centre in Garston, Watford, today). |

There are no real winners in war.
All we can really hope is that all sides learn from it and don't make the same mistakes again.............................. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I said to mother, I dunno why but whenever I hear a Lancaster flying over I always feel rate queer! She were like "You're maybe re-incarnated (or whatever it is) from the last war!"
I were like "O aye"
Anyways, it were hard trying to photograph it, but I'm quite pleased with some of these!!

I love watching the Warbirds fly, last fall in Columbus Ohio, about three hours drive from here, there was a gathering of over 150 P51 Mustangs, I can not describe the sound of so many Merlins in operation at the same time. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |
