I have to admit, if that has never been fired, I would not fire it.
You could run it on compressed air for a bit, oil does wipe off, and should not blow anything out

You originally asked, "Do we do any Japanese?"

Here are my only Japanese items:

AHI Workshop with NIB Power Press & Lineshaft:

Workshop again (Motor works, but I usually hook it up to an engine ):

According to the box, I am missing 3 items: hacksaw, grinder, & table saw.

If I get them, I hope to make a setup like the one pictured on the boxes:

Very Nice!    I've seen the lathe and it was A LOT better than I expected!

I just saw the tablesaw on ebay UK but I think the price is very high-but really don't know

The price is very high, will be surprised if anyone bids on it.

... terrific machines, congrats, mates! The first one is so typical japanese - makes you think of a '60ies Godzilla movie, where the Big Lizzard eats half of Manhatten, tumbling over buses which have a 'Matchbox Lesney, Made in England' plate on their bellies ...
I luuuuuv it!

I have a couple of not strictly Japanese steam items...

The Gakkens, One being a flame licker and the other being stirling.

and a couple of odd looking late 70's pop pop boats

Nice looking plant by the way.

Aside from Saito does anyone know of other Japanese manufacturers?
