Hope John and Rog have escaped last nights flooding.
17 counties are under a state of emergency. Most of the flooding is to the south and south west of Indianapolis. Have seen reports from Terre Haute to Franklin & Ninevah.
John, I know is about 35 miles east, south east from there.
Hope every thing's OK. _________________ Richard

Roger was right in the center of the worst of the rain. Our severe weather came a few days earlier, I lost a beautiful Maple tree in my yard but after the Fire claim I am not going to get the Insurance to pay for removal of the tree. I hope a neighbor can cut it to share firewood.
I emailed Roger and he had a few problems with a Garden Shed but I believe he want in any danger himself. He lives on a Lake and it got to be like 5 feet above its normal level. I am sure he is hard at work salvaging the contents of his shed, plus his wife lost her freshly planted Garden. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

We're OK...minor flooding...much of surrounding area is not so fortunate...saw flooded car dealerships with hundreds of vehicles with water up to their windshields.
We live on a small lake which rose 5 feet vertically after Thursday's 6 inch rain and Friday's 9 inch rain. Here are a couple of pictures of our rather soggy garden and garden shed. Garden is actually a built up box that is 2 feet above the yard with a 2 foot fence...in the pics you can see just tops of the fence and our scarecrow hanging on for dear life. My wife is clearing out what she could save from her shed as the water rose.
Our problems are incoveniences mostly...rest of our town on lower ground got hit very bad. Major National Guard presence still on the ground today rescuing people from low lying areas.

That was a close on Rog, if the water rose a few more feet your basement would have been flooded.
But now it's hurricane season here, . I dont want a "katrina" to hit Houston. _________________ Best Regards, Ranger Moore |

My heart goes out to the victoms of the flooding
Have lost everything in the past and from time to time I am haunted by the memories of items lost. Probably the old family pictures most of all.
Sorry Rog and glad it wasn't any worse. _________________ While you're resting |

WOW. I am really glad you guys are alright. I have some really bad flooding problems. This is what happened to most of my trains and plastics collections. We flooded really bady the first year in this house. Ruined everything. All the family photos, about 1/2 of the trains, and most of the plastics and related supplies. Not to mention a large record (LPs and 78s) collection, and a lot of books.
I am SO glad the phonograph was at a friends house for safe keeping.
We fooled again this year, but the sump pump, and the french drain kept it from getting to bad, just got about 1/2 inch of water in the house. Good luck with your clean up, and I am REALLY glad to hear your house got spared Roger.
Best of luck. _________________ Keep Creativity Alive! |

Thanks all...it is a beautiful sunny day today and the water levels all around seem to be dropping fast...the mess is still there and will be for some time, but at least people can get to it now. _________________ Visit IndianaRog and The Temple of Steam: www.indianarog.com |

What I did not know was how bad some people have it two couties west of me there are lots of people that have been evacuated from their homes etc. Areas that NEVER have seen flood waters are deeply flooded and most peoples Insurance doesnt cover Flood Damage. I think that Roger and I are lucky as it seems that there is a lot of hardship for many residents of Indiana. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

I'm the same at some 150 to 200m above sea level if my house gets flooded so does most of Western Australia. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
