Flooding sucks.

Believe it or not, Tucson suffers from flooding from time to time during the 'Monsoon Season' that is just around the corner. Alot of the areas around the county are on top of a hard clay layer, so not much water gets into the soil, thus flooding.

I have a sister, brother-in-law, and nephew in the Lafayette area.

Dry out quick !

Wayde

Thanks Wayde, water is going down thankfully...we have some cleaning on tap today.

My son lives in Phoenix as of a recent move...I have seen the huge concrete riverways that were bone dry a month ago but supposedly rush with runoff come Jun-Aug monsoon season.

cheers,
Roger

Hope everything goes well and you get a dry spell for a while mate.

I've still got tradesmen in and that is for one small roof leak.

I'm the same at some 150 to 200m above sea level if my house gets flooded so does most of Western Australia.

Same here tumir  about 380/400 meters above sea level stuck on the side of the Ruahine ranges/hills  our main problem is lots of rain and snow in winter

Pics no longer visible but think I can visualize    My commiserations to your wife & possible loss of what was certainly a very fine garden but thankfully it was no more serious than that.
Like others I live on high ground & if I ever go under, so does much of the south of France
Hope you dry out very soon with no permanent or costly damage.

Thanks SG,

Water levels keep dropping...wife's garden shed is now standing 6 inches ABOVE water now and the garden's surface is just peaking through...made a mess of the vegetable garden though, total replant is in order if we can find seedlings still.  And here we were waiting til end of May to plant once last frost fears were behind us, but never expected a flood!

Fortunately our home has been spared because we do sit atop a high hill...not so fortunate are many surrounding areas of our town.

Rog

Rog, I hope you get back to some sort of normality soon.  Glad to hear you are all OK though.

Thanks John,

Water levels have returned to normal, but the cleanup of flooded homes and businesses will probably continue for months.  In our area 160 homes were totally destroyed by the flooding, more than 1000 more will need extensive reconstruction to be usable again.

I am fortunate to live on fairly high ground, we had minimal damage and things are back to normal.

Thanks for asking!
Rog
