Just had a thought:

Would it be feasable to create a new board for the event, and then after the event when things have wound down to lock it but still be accessable?

This would then focus all the event posts into one board, record our memories of the weekend and we will have a dedicated board for future events.

Just thinking...

Good thinking too Si.

The team are discussing that very point at the moment.

Watch this space.

This all sounds like a fantastic idea! And a round of applause to the legend that is Sandy for donating one of his engines as a prize!
Would it be possible for people to compile videos for the day? That way we can have plenty of vids on the day. It also gives us with a busy schedule to plan ahead and have everything ready to enjoy it all.
I'm looking forward to this!

Syrtismajor, yes that's exactly the idea. Videos and other posts can be prepared in advance then posted on the day.

Of course. That is the whole idea.

Let's see all the best vids , pics, projects etc. over the proposed weekend and make it really special.

I must admit, I'm looking forward to it as well.

Just a note: File size limts for youtube have been upped to something like 1024MB (1gig) for 10 minutes, so no practical need to worry about file size limits and having to ruin your movie by running it through moviemaker just to compress it down to under 100.

Otherwise, great idea.  Particularly generous of Sandy as well.

Maybe I'll get off my chunk this summer and get a couple projects done that have been floating around headspace for months.

What a brilliant idea!! Typical of the genius we have come to associate with Steve & all he does. Coupled with Sandy’s extremely generous offer – the icing on the cake!
No idea where I’ll be on date of event but will certainly participate if present. Even have a webcam but no idea how to live-stream & would mean steaming in bedroom Pics & vids no problem & expect these techie details will be thrashed out over coming months.

Please bear with us guys and gals.

We are discussing the final format of the proposed weekend and a statement fully explaining what we see as the way forward will be posted soon.

As this is a first, we want to get it right ,so we want to explore all of our options.

(quoted straight from youtube uploader page)

About uploading...

Uploads usually take 1-5 minutes per MB on a high-speed connection, and converting your video takes a few minutes.

Your video is limited to 10 minutes and 1024 MB.

- They changed the limit recently, up from 100MB, within the last month or so.  I only noticed it when I had new stuff to stick up.

Just a little request. Please remember us with slower connections, slower brains and slower abilities. All this webcam this, and longer video that is great but can we also have somethings for us who just use our pc's and don't have the extra technology the weekend may need.

I think you should treat yourself to a nice broadband package.  You and your collection deserve it.
