While cleaning up a wheel on my SR1 for polishing I was thinking, us in OZ have it real hard compared to everyone in the UK in getting quality engines and was wondering if I'll ever get an SE3.
I was starting to get jealous of you all living in the UK and then I looked at my 'workshop' and I remembered why I moved back to OZ...

Good luck to anyone that trys to sneak up through my backyard.
I've never actually made it to my bottom property bundery only come within 5 meters of it and I only do that 3 or 4 times a year.
Once had a kangaroo try and go into my shed when I accidently left the door open once.
Leweis could you see me working outside when you zoomed in on google earth? 
Yes got my house in OZ and my old house in Glasgow bookmarked plus a few places in the outback I worked. Google earth is fantastic.
Here is my backyard 2 and a bit years ago.
Don't worry this was a controlled burn off I got the local fire brigade to do so if a real fire came through there would not be as much to burn.
Those grass trees go up a bought dont they.
Pollitically incorrectly called 'black boys' due to the burnt trunks on them, it takes them about 100 years to grow 1 meter high.

Wow, that's a bit risky. Always been a little cautious about living in a forest, especially with the fires they have in Australia.
Certainly more of a view than where I live though  .
Have to be careful of those kangaroos, they don't half pack a punch

The fires in the pictures aren't as damgerous as the looked.
The big flames are caused by grass trees.
They light them up one at a time carefully, they go woosh up in flames but only lasts a few seconds, early pioneers used to break them up and use them as fire lighters.
Yes kangaroos can kill but you have to be very unlucky or stupid.
They would only attack if you corner them or get between a male kangaroo and a female when she is in heat and didn't run away when the male stood upright.
A full grown great western red Kangaroo standing upright can reach over 7 feet tall!!

Of course, that's for the public...but we really know it's the first test run of a nice Australian made Scorpion steam donkey.

The flames where actually bigger than that from the burner I got with the engine.
Hence why I've only ran it once until I build a new burner.

I did toy with the idea of building a raised railway that winds its way through the trees on the slope in my backyard , that would look great, then I thought what would happen if my meths powered loco derailed and fell off.
I then decided a ground level one in the cleared section of garden would be safer.

All kidding aside, that is a gorgeous view, tmuir. I could imagine walking out onto that balcony with my morning's coffee, looking around, then breathe deep and sigh. Do you need an overseer?
