There is a track near that cuts through my block near the bottom.
I once went for a bike ride and decided to come up the track rather than doing the 1km uphill ride to get to the front of my house.
I thought how hard can it be to get my bike up.
It took me 5 to 10 minutes to carry, throw and curse my bike up the 50 meters to my back door.
Never tried that again.
Yes its a great view across the valley.
There are houses below mine but they are over 100 meters away and with the trees you hardly notice them.
Summers nights are the best,
Have a BBQ outside and sit at the table having a beer watching the light fade away and watching the wildlife move through the back yard.

That was the whole idea of starting this thread.
I was getting jealous of how much easier it is for all you in the UK to get decent engines at good prices.
So my plan has worked,

Those birds are called 28s as the call they make sounds like they are saying 28.
They are really stupid birds when you go long distance country driving you usually have atkeast one 'bounce' off your car.
Where I live they are as about as common as pigeons in Trafalgar Square.
Pass on smuggling you a bird Mamodman the penalty for smuggling Australian wildlife out of the country is as harsh as trying to smuggle hard core drugs into the country. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I also have some good views from my bedroom window, on a clear day you can see the South Downs At the moment it's grey, miserable and windy. Then again I have eaten baked beans with every dinner this week _________________ Si

Last year in my street, we had a sparrowhawk and a woodpecker in residence, so naturally no tree survived and there were quite a few pigeon feathers everywhere _________________ Si

Budgies come from Australia too but in the wild they are only half the size and fly in flocks of hundreds.
When I worked in the outback I would quiet often disturb a resting flock when I drove past them at 160km per hour and they would take off and try and fly past the car.
Usually get the last 4 or 5 'bounce' off the window.
The one bird you never want to hit is a wedge tail eagle, it has a wing spane close to six feet and I've seen them lift a Kangaroo carcus 6 inches off the ground!!! _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
