That S-50 was my favourite video of the weekend. First steaming - great, and love the bourbon condenser .
I would have thought that you'd have to pre-heat the water in the tank for it not to affect the running of the engine. |

Logoman , your exactly right !
I thought of that and would have done it but i ran out of fittings and had just made 4 fittings yesty and 3 today so i didn`t want to be tied to my lathe when i could be steaming , so i coupled the header tank with low temp clear tube instead of making a copper pipe and tails ect . Much quicker that way for a tempory set-up . _________________

P.S. Yeah , cos i was in a hurry to get her steaming and i didn`t want to alter the pipework on my proper condenser i looked around for a quickfix , at first i found a 375ml coke can , then i found the 440ml bourbon can ......... and i thought to myself " What a bonus "
.......... come to think of it , i thought that before when the can first came into my posession . _________________

Oz...what a fabulous job of "hotting up" that Jensen 20...running about 3X as fast as I have ever seen on. Mr. Jensen Sr. would probably have had a hearty laugh and say "Good on ya"!!! _________________ Visit IndianaRog and The Temple of Steam: www.indianarog.com |

After finishing the last run with my Babcock , i inspected the new firebox insulation material i installed on Friday . The boiler had 4 firings and the ceramic blanket stood it well , so i`m happy about that .
