Event Best In Show Awards

When the team envisaged making these awards, we never imagined the amount of hard work and preparation our members would all put into the event.

After consultation, we feel that to single out anyone, would simply not be right.

The team therefor is suspending that idea this time, as we could not possibly do our members justice.

What we can say is that the diversity and creativity we witnessed on those tables was stunning.

We hope our members will understand why we had to make this decision.

James, for the forum team.

I can certainly understand.  I was wondering how on earth you can make a decision on this with so much that was so highly commendable - to single one person out when there are so many deserving almost seems unfair.  And I am sure everybody was doing it for the enjoyment of it anyway - I know I was !!

I was thinking the same thing James, the competitive idea didn't suit the diversity of the members and their tables.

done the right thing mate.

Judges, this is only the proposed team awards and nothing to do with the competition.

Please carry on guys.

Sorry about the confusion.

No probs Sandy, but can you let us know which decisions you expect? There's the obvious ones, but do you also want best picture, best video etc?

The original parameters still stand.

All we expect from the judges is a winner.

It is fine if the judges want to make reference to contenders you feel deserve a special mention, but at the end of the day that will be up to the tribunal.

It will be a hard enough job to select a winner without making the job more complicated.

Sorry about the confusion guys, please carry on with what must be a nightmare of a job.

I have contacted the judges to clarify the position.

The awards Jimbo referred to were the honorary awards that the forum team intended to bestow on what we thought were the best in show from each shed.

It was clear to us that we had such an overwhelming response that we could not pick one over the other. Thus we decided to suspend that part for this year.

This had nothing at all to do with the forum competition which is still running as normal.

I hope I've cleared up any confusion, and not bothered our judges too much.

They are doing a great job, and one that I do not envy.

I would like just to add this for our judges and our members piece of mind.

When the forum team backed of with the team forum awards, we felt that we were out of our depth and could not do the job justice.

The forum competition although taken very seriously, is at the end of the day a bonus and an added interest to the event.

It's a competition and there has to be a winner.

We all know that.
