A shame... don't you have to be a certain age to drive them? or pass a test of some sort?

I like that phrase Jimbo Is a licence for driving one of those on the road to a steam roller then? I know for steam engines you need a Group G licence and must be over 21 That is for the regulator, I think you have to be over 12 to be steersman onroad, but it doesnt matter offroad

Very interesting indeed James.
If you can get that for £500 bite his arm off, Its worth about £800 for scrap. Not that you would want to scrap it.

Is what would be the boiler if it was steam powered, now used as a water tank?

Trying to put a date on it is interesting, In that if it has a Nuffield Diesel engine that would make it mid 50's as this engine came out in 1954. If it is a Perkins diesel which was also used by Nuffield it could be as old as1946.

But looking at it, it just seems pre war, so it may have originally had a side valve petrol engine fitted I maybe wrong though.

Still worth having though

i think it was petrol originally, because this engine isnt the original.

its a confusing one. i havent seen it yet, but dad said it just had a shaft through the "boiler". ill ask him when he come in. any idea of a maker grif?
