The temperatures you get in Oz are amazing, how do you go on working in such heat, I bet you have to wear a hat.

I live in the hills on the outskirts of Perth that get hotter than the city as it takes longer for the sea breeze to reach me. The city was only about 38 to 39 degrees C.
Hats and long sleaves and trousers are absolutely necesary if you work outside if you dont want t get skin cancer when you are older.

Most primary schools make hates compolsary.
Builders stop work when it goes over 36 degrees.

I luckily usually work inside airconditioned equipment rooms and when I have outside work to do if its that hot I reschedule it.

You cant do anything outside when its over 40 as it can literally kill you.

Your weather software is a bit suspect - the symbol says it's raining

Do you know if that is law over in your state?
I used to work as a labourer for a builder, and we used to stop at 40degs cels.
Apparently there are no laws here for it

As you probably know, I work outdoors.
We continue working regardless of heat, rain for that matter, unless it's torrential.

In fact, our weekend afternoon on call shifts are based on working in the heat. Watering greens. Hotter it is the more likely we have to work.
I wear shorts, but a long sleeve shirt. I simply couldn't wear long pants in summer as well, especially with the heat some of our machines put out

Not sure if it is law or a union thing.
I've never got to stop working due to heat but I've certainly reschuled work due to heat and done other things.

I've worked in the tropics in full overalls and chaps chainsawing at the end of the wet season. Was only in the mid 30s but very high humidity abd that was a killer. Most of us drank about 4 to 6 litres of water a day.

Thanks for that.

I was really hoping you'd say it's a law, and then I'd look further into it.

None of us are in a union at work. So all we get from our boss when we question such things is
"If you don't like it, you can leave"

New record today. Outside temp reached 45.2 C and my main airconditioner is broken which means as I'm typing this it is 37.6 C in my computer room.
Its coming up to 5pm and its still 42.9 C outside.
Have moved into the spare bedroom which has the new AC in it and I can keep that room at a nice 24 C.

I've just done a great Aussie tradition of taking a beer out of the fridge and shoved it in the freezer for 20 minutes so my beer I'm having at the moment is at about 1 C, perfect beer temperature for HOT days.
