Well, about a hour ago, my mamod's cylinder came flying off, sending steam everywhere. I was lucky enough to get away, apparently the screw that held the cylinder in place was loose and came off. I have gotton it back together, and am now scared to run it. Another example of fine enginnering on mamod's part. _________________ We know return you to your regularly scheduled drinking |

No nothing to do with the engineering, you should have made sure it was tight, NEVER stand over the engine either!

I got a bruise when my MM1 did it, I was sitting opposite the screw, so it flew off at some speed, and hit me in the chest, and burnt a hole through my shirt!!! Mum wasnt best pleased _________________ Si

Gardening can be even more dangerous, a roto-tiller can chop your leg right off. _________________ We know return you to your regularly scheduled drinking |

you know, a little self proppeled 5 hp machine that tills the ground for you. I haven't used manual labor tools in a long time. _________________ We know return you to your regularly scheduled drinking |

Logan...
No need to blame your engine for the problem. You have to look your engines over each time you run them. They will need small tweaks and tightening of screws and such over time. It's quite easy to do this as you apply needed lubrication prior to running them.
Problem... Operator malfunctioning
Solution.... removed and replaced malfunctioning operator. Dipsosed of old operator using approved decontamination and disposal procedure.
Best
