Maybe yours is an early version and the ebay one is a later version or vice versa. _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

A bit of progress on the boat, its now got a teak planked deck which is made up of teak strips of 10mm wide and about 2mm thick. I stuck them on top of the ply and used waterproof pva mixed with black paint to do so, They where then sanded flat and varnished unfortunatly you have to look real close to see that its been planked and not just badly veneered. I then made a rear sear thingy to cover the rx , servo and batterys its held in by two cheese head screws with two dummy screws which dont do anything and are for the aesthetics. The seating inside has been finised and rubbing strips and coaming have been added both of which need some attention to make them look better. Im not really that happy with the quality of the boat at the moment as i wanted better but it can always be modified later i suppose

I suppose its just my mentality im one of these people who is never satisfied with my work however looking back on the thread it has progressed from just a fibreglass tub so it is something to be proud of and i dont suppose many 17 year olds have built there own live steam launch |

17! I thought you were some old dude like me
I'm the same though, perfectionist. a bit of career advice; become a specialist in something, possibly a craft, perfectionists excel this way. |

Great work, Reg!
I, too, thought you were an old dude like Miles.
Being a perfectionist is very much a two edged sword. On the one hand you'll never be completely satisfied, on the other you'll never stop getting better. _________________ Richard |

Can't agree more to what's been said, very nice work. I've a steam launch hull that I'm trying to to something about but being the (sloppy) perfectionist I am, I don't think I can get it anywhere close to yours.

| a flag pole at the stern and a couple of cleats would top it off nicely. |

Right i need advice, it has come to my attention that my krick power plant may be worth more than i thought just look at this one.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-cylinder-...55a0a910&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Do you think i might be better of getting shot of mine and replacing it with a better steam plant with the money it might raise. I have always really wanted a tvr1a but would this fit into my boat and do a better job or am i just day dreaming?
By the way flagpoles, flags, cleats etc on there way |

as someone who maintains a full size wooden boat (sadly not steam) and is used to lots and lots of varnish I thought I'd say what a genuinely superb job you've done. It looks like an excellent finish and I suspect the photos don't do it justice. _________________ burning fingers since 1989! |

You can always see what yours will bring - put a reserve on it and see-
I sold a complete plant like yours to YEllOWJR ( a forum member)a while back. If they are bringing that kind of money he will be pleased to hear also.
But beware- many thing get bid up for various reasons. Some legitimate and some not. Sometimes they are a site for a bidding war. Sooooo, it is hard to say definitely. _________________ Lagniappe readily offered and accepted,
