As I've said about a week ago, I'd post up the steamings of my engines. This means how many times they've run on one fuel and water filling.:

Wilesco Roller 7
Mamod TE1A 10
Wilesco Locomobile 8
Mamod Minor 1 11
Water Cart
MSS Loco 27
Pop pop Boat 9
SR1A 2
SE3 2
Bowman M158 1
D141 2

I do this mainly so I can figure out when I think an engine needs a rest and some attention

I've never kept records of when I steam each engine, but its a good idea... and this is the ideal time to start. Maybe this would be a good new year resolution.

Yeah I might do the same too. Good idea MTA.

I have been meaning to write down how many ml's each engine takes, esp the Minors.

The MEC1, SE3, and SE2a are the only ones I have that I can fill to overflow, and they don't prime.
Fill my SE2 to overflow, and it primes badly.

During 2006 I steamed both SE3s, my M122 and M135 Bowmans. SW1 green, SE2, SP3, SP5, SP2, both early MM1s and Wilesco D455.

Must steam my rollers and TEs in 2007 . . .

Always a bugger when they don't

Always fixable... just look at my loco as an example, that took months of problem solving. Now it runs like a dream

My Te1a was the biggest problem for me.
Needed to replace the boiler, luckily Manxman had a spare one and had to replace all the steam pipes as one ewhaust was missing and the soldering was cracked on other 2. Works fine now after some fine tuning.

Soldering those pipes can be tricky.

I've just done 6 on an SP5, not easy.. but do-able when you know how

All my engines have been alright, no work needed whatsoever, just a clean Although the Bowman M158 will need the pipe from the boiler into the port face soldering, as the union nut on the pipe wouldn't twist, and was tight, I applied a bit too much force and the solder joinet broke... Oh well!
