An unwanted Christmas Present. This is a kit and is meant to go in a boat (like an Africa Queen kind of thing). It's not a project for a total beginner and has to be made by someone with some soldering skills. Having said that, not to hard.
Nothing wrong with it but not my thing (I like mobiles). If I don't sell it on, it will sit in the garage as a project for the future and just not get done.
I don't know how much these things cost new but I think about £70.00. Anyone fancy another winter project!

Ah yes - the Midwest. I have the boat complete with engine. It's well worth the effort in building it.

I believe my local modelshop has one of those in at the moment, I think he also had the one that had the boat with it.  It looks very pretty, but beyond my skills at the present time

Roly, do you have a pic of your boat, so people could see what they would be working towards. I guess you could use it for other things as well!

I've customised it slightly in detail but basically, that's it.
The engine / boiler could be used as a general purpose stationary but you'd need to add a pulley of some sort if you want it to drive anything other than a propeller shaft.

I would like it sparky but cant really afford it at the moment so you go for it.
Decided to use my SEL marine to make a loco instead.
