Roly, not sure if I'm seeing right but to me it seems that the drip tray shall go clear of the induction tank? The latter appears to be higher/ longer on your model, difficult to see on the picture though?

I do believe you're right. And also, looking closely at the picture, it looks as if the drip tray is fixed to the tank. This is completely different from what's described in the instructions. It looks as if it is a design change after all.
Now, do I revert to the old design, or do I try to make the new design work. There must have been a reason for changing it. _________________ Regards

Is the placement of that drip tray so critical as long as it collects the dripping and don't hinder the function of the mechanism?
(With reservation that I really don't understand how those little brass things shall move...)
Edit: Not meant to be critical of course, just curious.

Roly, I shall grab some pictures of mine, tomorow possibly depending on if I can get into the workshop.
If it is a design change, mine will be different as it was one of the very first built... _________________

Thanks Jim, but if yours is one of the earliest, I suspect it will be very different. The photo posted by madeinenglang is different from mine in many ways, but the drip tray seems to be the same as per my instructions. I get the impression that the design has changed more than once and the instructions have not kept up. I'm beginning to think that the picture posted by Caprice (which is the same as the one on the front page of the instructions) is probably the one to go by. _________________ Regards

fantastic job roly. im not at all surprised to read of things being different from the instructions. its off topic but might cheer you up..... i knew two top engineers years ago. one was even a head engineer in charge of building bridges. anyway .... one bought a glass house in kit form complete with instructions and plans ...parts checked..present and correct! now assembly... after two weeks (no assembly) the help of another engineer is called upon... every night for a week the two tried to assemble it .AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS. their wives were having a field day...lol lol two top engineers couldnt put a simple hot house together lol.....so they threw out the plans and instructions...drew up their own and assembly took them two hours with everything fitting like a glove!! ive never bothered with "kits" ...they are a great source of materials and thats about it in my opinion. it will be great to see it going as im sure you will be able to "nut" it out. _________________ difficult things done straight away...the impossible takes me a little longer |
