And the body work in primer




1st major error after this. Started to spray body work and after 2 coats noticed Id picked up metalic paint instead.

Not happy but sanded the metalic back and its had a few top coats. If its dry enough will take another pic later.

Now thats starting to look very nice! Are they pistons from Ip engineering?

Any chance of giving it a cheeky run with no body on?

Yep IP pistons (when the eventualy turned up ) still waiting for a few more bits shey didnt send

Would love to give her a run but need to solve the gas tank problem 1st. Time to send some mone to PPS I think

Ah this is great! Brings back memories . Which bits didn't they send?

The gas tanks are pretty reasonable from PPS

did you see my loco video? I pulled 9 coaches, not bad really hehe

Water top up valve and safty valve for Palmerston.

Have you ever seen a PPS gas tank in the flesh so to speek to know what size they are?
I know you can get 1 that stands on end and 1 that kind of lies down. Not sure what would be best or how they are fasternd down.

Not seen one in the flash no, it would probably best to get one that stands up in the cab so it won;t block the sight glass. The old ones were attached to the back cab which you had to drill I guess these are the same?

ok got pictures of the body.




and



The old merlin gas tank stood on end and was bolted to the back of the cab. makes it easier to fill.

dont be tooooo shocked. They only answerd once to 2 emails and even then they wernt any real help.

Question was:

Can you give me a paint spec for an old SL3 I have got ie shade of maroon and the temp the paint needs to be resistant to. Also can you tell me were I can get the transfares to replace the badges on the tank and lining?

Reply back:

Try Halfords.

Some people realy do go out of their way to be helpful
