I have recently discovered what Bluetooth actually is! I'm going to get one of these things you plug into a USB port on a PC to tranfer images and videos from my phone, as I think they will be of better quality than the ones that I get off my mum's phone! I've looked on various sites and I found one for £10 from Argos:

Whilst broswing, I saw something called a dongle, can anyone tell me what on earth a dongle is _________________ Si

No idea how they came up with such a stupid name! I wouldv'e known what it was if they had called it a 'bluetooth data PC transfer device' _________________ Si

Dongles are normally used in software protection - they can connect via a USB port and allow Licensened software to work . . .
It a bit of a generic term . . . for something which plugs into via a USB/serial ports . . . |

I got the same one as MTA, I reccommended that one to him. It works very well indeed. Uploads a 7 minute video in about 30 seconds _________________ Forum Founder, Owner and Admin.

Blue tooth can be a laugh.
We had a blue tooth hands free kit for a car at my last job for phones and it was funny if you turned it on and someone else within 25 meters had who had previously used it had not disabled it in there phone as it would tune to theres not your phone, or if you parked the car and forgot to turn it off and stood within 20 to 30 meters of the car and your phone rang, you could answer the phone but the persons voice at the other end would appear in your car not at the phone. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
