Hi Guys,
Many thanks for the very warm welcome. Also thanks for the tips Gil and Jim. The instructions are not as comprehensive as I would have hoped but I think I have grasped the basic principles and as soon as the weather picks up, hopfully at the weekend, I'll give it its first run.
As a matter of interest, has anyone any views on the remote control system ? It would appear at first glance to be a good idea and I am tempted to fit one before I steam it.
Cheers,
Kristian. |

Welcome from Gloucestershire.
I believe Mirko one of our members has tried RC on an old Smokey- I think it worked OK.
I expect he will be along in a while. _________________ You cant get an engine for that anymore unless you are lucky |

Hi Phil,
Thanks. I looks like it works really well and I take it that it is not to difficult to fit ?
Cheers,
Kristian. |

Welcome to the forum, from Singapore.
Ah, the D405 - nice engine, you'll love it. Smooth and powerful, and they really lend themselves to modifications if you're into that. _________________ Regards,

PM Czechsteam and ask him. I'm sure he'll tell you how easy or difficult it was to fit.
Here is his profile, click on the PM button.

Welcome.
You will like the Wilesco D405. It as plenty of power and has many possibilities for dressing up.
If I use esbit in mine I usualy only use two pieces, saves on fuel and is plenty enugh once it is steamed up. _________________ Kevin Klein |
