Great job
Some engines are just too worn not to retore. Toy engines are not designed to be run hundreds of times, just until the child becomes bored. These techniques add enourmously to the life of engines. I am watching very closely. _________________ Cheers

Jim... I should send you the engine part of the D21. I almost think it is a lost cause!!
I keep eyeballing that D20 engine only on ebay... (just can't afford it!)
You have made that MM2 a sweet runner!! _________________ Keep Creativity Alive!

Go ahead Owen....I will fix it for free my friend.
I would be thrilled to do it.I even offer to pay return shipping!
I could bench run it off my 1400 watt boiler ...
As for the D-20 replacement engine on ebay ,It will be just as bad....
And yes insane price.I asked them if they would take less....and NO...
They want more than I paid for either D-20 I have.

One for the purists
I have some pretty worn engines, one old vertical has maybe 20thou of rattle in its crankshaft due to wear. It definately needs metalhead-type bearings.
