Well folks, here is how it arrived today....missing cab roof, one wheel, burner and all boiler fittings, but otherwise complete, including the all-important drive gear. Piston seized solid. Cab fairly mangled, but nothing torn.
Borrowed a wheel from my tender, and applied liberal green velvet to the piston.
Piston came loose without any problems (just old steam oil) and is in great condition, generating very healthy compression. Straightened out the cab and fitted properly, and gave the whole shebang a good wipedown....looking better already, with some borrowed boiler fittings. I have a good feeling about this!!

| That's great. Apart from the missing bits it's in very good condition. I'll bet it goes well! |

I would sure think that a new roof would be fairly easy to fabricate. The wheel wold be the hardest part.
I believe Boiler fittings are available,

Looks like the risk has paid off The missing bits shouldn't be too hard to find/make. _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

Worse case a new wheel could be turned on a lathe. _________________ Non Impedite Raditioni Cogitationis |

Ja man!
Good news - I've found a source for the burner and the wheel, that'll save me a job! _________________ Nid wy’n gofyn bywyd moethus,

Wonderful news, Moose! My mate with the 410 needed a new burner which he initially made himself but then managed to source a more correct reproduction. I really look forward to seeing your 410 in steam! Shouldn't be too terribly long with all of the parts sourced. _________________ Paul
