Great stuff Moose, often engines that stopped working with bits missing and never replaced are the best of runners having not been flogged to death _________________ You cant get an engine for that anymore unless you are lucky |

JUst had a phonecall from the gent who is making me a repro burner - it's in the post!
I expect things will move quickly once that gets here. He's also mafe me a wheel, which just needs facing off and the tyre taking down to size, and centre drilling - time to crack out the lathe. Got some small parts to turn anyway. _________________ Nid wy’n gofyn bywyd moethus,

Serious progress......the wheel and burner arrived today, made by a gentleman who specialises in very accurate Bowman replicas. All I had to do was centre drill the wheel for the shaft, an easy job on my little lathe.
Here is the burner:
Time to see if she'll run on blocks - that'll be a yes!!
Bit of video - you may be able to see that the wheels are running backwards - this is because the whole saft can be rotated, reversing the gear and making this technically the only Bowman loco capable of running backwards!

Too cool, a plus to being roofless. one can see the flywheel and cylinder working, that is what makes the 410 so interesting to me _________________ Non Impedite Raditioni Cogitationis |

| She certainly runs well! Could you just explain the bit about it being reversible? I'm not sure how that works. |

Steve, the drieve gear passes through the support for the wheel shaft - this support is retained with a nut. Slacken this off , and you can rotate the entire assembly around the gear, see picture.
