Pete, glad you are OK...but looking at that car makes me have to ask...where is the engine?  I see a radiator, but it's either a rear powered vehicle or an exceptionally slimline power plant!!!

By the way, I grew up 40 miles from the OTHER Boston...didn't know it's namesake was from Lincolnshire.

Hi Rog,

The engine is in the front of the car and behind the radiator.  It's a small 1400cc transverse mounted across the front wheels.  Makes the front very compact (and almost impossible for Mr Average to service).  This type or arrangement was first used in the original Mini.

Boston in the US is named after Boston in Lincolnshire.  This is where the Pilgrim Fathers first tried to leave the UK for Holland (then for the States)

eeek, glad you are OK Pete- I did that a couple of years ago- returning from hols, deer stepped out in front of my car,  I swerved a bit to miss it, and hit its partner behind   .

Still costly with the excess but luckily I had protected no claims.

Someone may have pinched the dead animal for some food

"from your grill to our grill" as the restaurent in Australia claims

Wow Pete, I really didn't think there was an engine behind that radiator!!

Also interesting that Boston, Mass (near where I grew up), traces it's roots to Boston, Lincolnshire.  Learn something new everyday!

Glad you and the family are ok . If it was a deer I expect someone else stopped and picked up the free venison after you had left .
I have heard that some poachers put food near the roads to encourage the deers so they get run over , they just got to pick up the bodies . Saves hunting them

I am told there is an Uxbridge, Oxford, Northbridge, Smithfield, Webster, and MANY other names of towns around here that have an English counterparts that they were named after.
