how did you get to the tricky parts of the boiler? did you pull the whole MM1 apart, clean & then re-assemble it?

Hi -- Thank you all for your words of encouragement and your advice as well. We took the engine apart to clean the burner.

We have fired it since the clean up and so the burner is not as glossy now --- she runs really well. Cheers J-G

Hi Steamyman we didnt tak anything off the boiler only the flywheel and piston and associated parts the frame stayed on
we used a dramil with a thin polishing disk to getin around the frame and chimney
