They were very cheap. Can't remember how much. He had a box of mamod track, but all very tatty/broken. I was tempted, so it must have been cheap!

They can just about survive having one broken clip, two or a part of the rail and you are stuffed.

I have roughly 4-5 broken pieces mainly curves which is quite annoying.... I think my mum broke them

Well I managed to pull a few today . It went really well on this run. Roughly 4 minutes give or take, unfortunatly the bloody memory ran out (video'd over things) but you get the impression of what's possible.

A little windy, and again not exactly level, but not bad

Good show. A really nice steady run, I think lots of weight to pull helps with that.

I'll find out eventually, I'll have to buy some more rolling stock and see what she can do.

I can't upgrade her much more really, the original 'stock' loco's are pretty powerful themselves

Great idea Jim! They are very powerful for what they are! As you can see, obviously a few upgrades though

I have an idea about double heading two Mamod engines, and the steam regulators to be set the same at the same time. To Paint!

Might not work too well, engines are different and react differently to the throttle. Maybe with 2 out of the box MSS ones

But the wire might bend therefore opening one more than the other.

The wire would either just bend, or pivot around the front or back regulator.

Also as MM says both would need to be identical locos, and boiler pressure would have to be identical.

Must be a way to do it though, but probably best done just by careful fiddling for a lap or two to get it right. Or maybe it isn't that critical?

As you said Chris is makes no real difference how much they are open.

One will push or pull the other.

Even with identical loco's you would struggle, one may have a small leak... or the pistons may be more worn in......

Just take two loco's and open them up and get them running, there isn't any need to get the reg's exact As shown with my push pull
