Here is the video of my Second Scorpions first steaming.
It is a big download so apologies to those still on dial up.
As it was a lovely day and its Australian engine I thought I would do something a bit different this time and take it outside so you could see some Australian bush at the same time.
Sorry it was the wrong time of day for Magpies so not many birds singing.
But if you listen closely you may just here one in the first 3 seconds of video.

I agree with Mike I'd live on that balcony! Room for a snooker table?

Technically I should of had a permit to do this as today we moved from a prohibited burning tine to a restricted burning time.
In Australia from December to March any burning outside is illegal, in April - May and October to November you actually require a permit to burn and from June to September no permits are required to burn off.
I don't think anyone would attempt charge me but technically I broke the law running that outside as I didnt have a permit for it.
Need to wait until June before I can do lots of outdoor running on my decking.
We have that law as bush fires are such big risks in Australia.
In the suburb I live in two houses were burnt down due to someone burning off during the prohibited period this year and dozens of houses have been threaten with fire this season.

Yes the view is great cooked a BBQ dinner on it tonight.
At the moment the runs are quite short because the burner I built is under sized but if I made the burner big enough a 20 to 30 min run would be easy as they hold a lot of water.
I put about 100mls in today and didn't even half fill the boiler.

Beats a completely flat garden like whave we've got
I was going to say the boiler looks very big!

Here you go MM thats an SP4 boiler next to the Scorpion.
If you hold the SP4 boiler level with the bottom of the scorpion boiler the SP4 is about 25mm longer, but as you can see much smaller in diameter.
The Scorpion boiler is about 65mm in diameter or a bit over 2 1/2 inches in the old money.

Blimey, I didn't realise they were that big at all. For some reason I pictured them as being fairly small.
It is a fine runner, I like that a lot.

Great vid, Tony. Interesting that this one doesn't have the chuffing sound like
the other. This one runs with a more familiar sound...better fitting parts?
