|
|
Thought I should make some loads for the rest of my wagons. My latest ebay wagons were a log wagon with the horrid mamod polystyrene logs (I really don't like those), and a coal wagon.
So as for my other log wagon I cut up and stained a broom handle (£1 at the hardware shop). So now they more or less match. I was going to use some carbon (of the sort I use in my fish tank filter) to make some coal, but instead thought I would stick with the wood theme, and I made some firewood type logs to go into the coal wagon.
Anyway, pics below showing the new wagons with my previously made plank carrying wagon and other log wagon.
Also a nice video of it all running (Arthur was running very smoothly today, probably due to an extra effort to get some oil in the cylinders).

Looks good, Chris. You might check your closet...some old-style pants
hangers have wood dowels you can cut to make good loads with, too! _________________ -Chuck

Once 'Victor' has all the work I want doing to it finished, I shall have to invest in some rolling stock _________________ Si

Saw you are finally making progress with the cab. There is a lot of none mamod rolling stock on ebay, just search on SM32. The mamod stuff doesn't come up so often.
Rolling stock of all types is rather expensive on ebay though. _________________ Chris

I think it was his smoothest run yet. I pulled the cylinders away from the port face and dropped a few drops of oil down there in an effort to get some more oil into the cylinders. I think it helped. _________________ Chris

Very inventive Chris! A lot better than the poly logs you get from mamod!
Smooth runner too! and it should be!
Mamod locos are designed very very well but sometimes the quality control isn't up to scratch _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

I did have it running a bit slower than that as well. Was running for ages, stopped it a couple of times to top the meths up, and stopped it once to squirt some more water in through the top up valve using a syringe.
Worked really well, just squirted the water in, no pressure lost, so just opened the regulator and off he went again. _________________ Chris

The water top up valve is good stuff I have one on Rosa and it's just easier to fill that way . Good to hear your's is running well Chris when they are good they are good. When they are bad, they are bad (running wise that is) _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

lovely wagons, inspiring stuff. I've decided that my garden line would benefit from being SM32 rather than O gauge. |
