Are the burners particularly rare then? Is that because they get broken or is it because they get replaced by solid fuel do you think?
Don`t know if I`ll be selling it though, still not sure if this is the start of a hobby or just a one-off experiment.
If I do decide to sell it I`ll make sure I post it here first. |
The burners on all older engines tend to get lost, as they are not attached to the engine and over time they just get miss placed and disappear.
Even Mamod original meths burners have been selling for up to 15 pounds recently and they are fairly common.
Luton Bowman engines were only made for a few years so it is pretty rare for a burner to turn up without an engine but quite common for an engine to turn up without a burner.
Most people want an original burner and due to supply and demand people start to pay funny money (sometimes up to 60% or 70% of a complete model) just to get the burner.
On the right day you could sell the burner and engine separately and get more money than if you sold it together.
People have been known even to pay 10 or 20 pounds just for an original box of an old or rare engine. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Welcome to the forum, Giles! Do treat us with pics and maybe
a video when you get it all sorted. What a great buy! _________________ -Chuck

You got that for £10? I have to second the "jammy sod" comment!
