Hi All,
I think I may of just landed myself with the upgrading of a very early Mamod loco. I'm doing a clean up jobby and new regulator jobby on it for my friend who's chairman at the Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) and he has no time to do it for himself. He finds them like I do, TO FAST!! So as I partially striped it down I noticed several diffrences to the standard SL1, I'll list them below:

Thicker red bit on the buffer beams
A strage indent on the whistle lever which is deliberate
Bolder logos
Diffrent cab backsheet
No watch water level sticker in the cab, and no evidence of there ever beeing one

Can anyone unravel this for me? It's deffinatley not a SL1K!

The original loco didn't have a back cab, neither any lining.

A picture would help, someone may have added to it

The only chyanges made to it are a new saftey valve and meths burner. It's in bits, but I'll take photos of the various bits and bobs!

Perhaps it fills a gap between the two?

Try looking under the sofa cushions, stuff always gets lost there.

Especially when you have a toddle in the house.

Still be interested in a pic, it is still a piece of the picture in the loco history what ever it is. No pressure though
