Yes, not for long though Steely. Still needs running in a bit more, and some oil in the lubricator i'll try it again soon, I need new wheels though, because they are slipping like hell on the axels now

Yes the wheels are very strangely attatched to the shafts, but mine seem ok, but I will have to wait and see.

As long as they are quatered, and stuck in that position. Don't touch them . Unfortunatly I had to move mine to quater them, and they sort of became loose when I did it . Poorly designed i'm afriad. I've tried to fix them, but no luck

So the pistons are within 90 degrees of each other. You know how you have the SE3 pistons opposite to eachother? (180 degrees)? You have to "quater" the loco ones otherwise it doesn't work

Well, I think Titan mentioned it to me about his Mamod loco when mine was going horribly wrong

I didn't know it also applied to the real stuff. Why is it then MTA? just to make them run smoother? faster?

It is done like that on the real stuff, its all to do with valve timings, plu the force to drive the wheels, if the con rods (the bars that join the wheels) were absolutely parralel, the force would be to great, and the air being drawn through the fire would be to great etc, therefore being too efficient. Plus it gives the distinctive beat from the chimney Theres nothing I like more than an A4 three cylinder beat, Mike will know about that!

Yeah it's much like a car too. Need the firing order right so the pistons "help" each other.
Momentum from flywheel will be returning 1 piston, whilst steam will be pushing the other. Work perfectly together.

Like a v-twin engine. Pistons are always running in opposite directions whilst on a stroke.
