Early models did have the smooth canopy, although I would say to have a ribbed nut and bolt canopy is just as rare.

Late to the party but what a great model. Agree with everything said. Has to be a very early TE1. Never seen those wheels before and as MM said, my TE1 has a ribbed canopy. A model that is just going to go up in value.

While I agree that their are still models hidden away out there in lofts and sheds, I bet not in that condition. One of the best thing about my TE1 is the fact that most of the lettering is still in place. The canopies seen to go very quickly on these older models.

Dauntless' TE is just brill.

Yup! the lattering is weak, unfortunatly, back in the day they were first produced there was no way of testing how long they would last!

Part of the fun of collecting exactly dating a model

The canopy lettering in those days were in the form of waterslide decals or so it appears. They are not the most durable and they yellow with age!
