That's worth a try mate.
I'll give it a go tomorrow and let you know how I get on.
I would just like it to be that bit better than what I'm achieving at present.

Well, I tried everything but this engine had too many flaws to be a real Sandman Shiney.
There's a lot of pitting on the base and the firebox and a good few dings and scratches on the brass.
Couldn't get a finish at all.
I've done my best with it and at least it looks a bit better.

I would have liked it to have been a bit better Steve.
As you see, the chimney is a bit rough, but it's my first effort and I can always revisit it later.
It was the pitting in the aluminium that beat me. It was just too deep to polish out and it looks like a dirty mark on the surface.
It's a grand runner mate. Here's a vid before I cleaned it up.

| Yes it's a great runner. It sounds just like mine! I had quite a bit of priming when I ran mine too, but it seems to be OK if I put in about 70cc of water. |

don't forget Sandy that these engines aren't brand new and considering the age and the condition you bought it in its come up a treat I'd say!
You can't get perfection with metal thats been exposed for many years! Don't think you've failed enjoy the engine mate

Hoo-haaa! Oh, that's hilarious, Sandy-because it seems like only yesterday, in
a certain motel room somewhere in the Detroit area, I was being described as
