Looking good Roly.
Just as a further suggestion on your paint problems. When we had problems crop up like this in the paint shop, we used a primer sealer as opposed to a basic primer.
I've never known that to fail. _________________ http://www.sandmansteamshack.co.uk/

Thanks Sandy. I'll try to remember that for next time. I'm not going to strip this one again, even though it's far from perfect _________________ Regards

Hi Roly!
For my humble two bob's worth (and that's dating me - we went decimal in Australia in1966!!) did you wipe/wash the parts down prior to painting them with a degreaser? Trade name Prepsol or something like this removes all grease and impurities from the surface immediately prior to painting. Sometimes impurities lodge in the pores of the metal and need to be esponged thoroughly.
The other thing I might mention - I have had outstanding success when I have used one coat epoxy enamels, either by brush or by aerosol can. They are not particularly cheap but provide outstanding coverage and durability with a good finish. The secret is not to work them once the paint is applied to the surface. They can be sprayed directly onto bare metal or over existing paint. Our Australian members might know it as marketed under the name White Knight, but I am sure there will be UK equivalents. Hopefully this might save any angst for the next job Roly!
I like the two tone finish too!
Cheerio!

At last, it's finished (apart from a couple of tweaks needed after the first steaming after completion). Here are a few ( ) final photos. Video to follow when I dig out my circular Tuit

Yes, there is, and I did spend some time trying to think of something to put there. Any suggestions will be considered. _________________ Regards

A luggage rack could look nice, I think and it's a functional addition to your car.
Just a quicky in Gimp, but you get the idea. _________________ Paul |

Hmmm - interesting idea, Paul. That's one I didn't think of. I'll see what I can find in my junk box _________________ Regards
